A Word From K&S Staff
"NO
PILOT LEFT BEHIND!"
PROBLEM: K&S
just heard from another pilot that a competitor
could NOT help get training funds through WIA.
He was not told that the school had not received
WIA approval in that state! After calling K&S,
he will be able to contact the state to have his
training paid for and will make a second call
to one of our SWA contacts for advice and networking.
SOLUTION: For a
flight school to participate in the WIA program,
each state requires a lengthy initial application
and detailed yearly updates. K&S has allocated
WIA experts to educate each pilot about the program
and develop relationships with each WIA state
representative to ensure students get the funds
they deserve.

Mike, Sophie and Robbie:
I just wanted to send a special
thanks, not only for the great instruction in
the classroom and the sim, and not just for the
tasty doughnuts each morning, but for extending
what is basically your own cash for WIA recipients
like me. For those who don't know, furloughed
pilots are elegible for a state-organized, government-funded
grant that can help pay, or completely cover the
cost of their B737 type training. Nebraska picked
up $7500 worth of training and lodging that you
at K&S essentially fronted the money for and
it is greatly appreciated. I sincerely hope you
continue to offer that program to pilots that
find themselves in the same position.
I'd gladly recommend K&S to
all my Guard buddies.
Regards-
E.C.
"FREE MONEY FOR
PILOTS!"
K&S Aviation is proud to partner
with state agencies providing the Workforce Investment
Act (WIA) funds to pilots that are currently unemployed
and are in need of financial
assistance to receive training.
K&S understands the Aviation
Industry and why it may be difficult for a pilot
to receive free money for training in an occupation
that is statistically declining. K&S has WIA
experts on staff to educate state officials and
pilots on Industry trends and how to prepare for
a WIA interview.
Does the WIA program really work
for pilots?
Meet Ron H.:

After being out of work for several
months and resorting to living on his credit cards,
Ron applied for WIA funds in Chicago. Ron received
his B737 Type Rating with K&S Aviation and
soon after was hired by a major airline in the
Southwest.
