Throughout its distinguished history, aviation has been remarkable as a fast, efficient, and most of all, safe way to travel. However, accidents, whether caused by human, mechanical, or natural circumstances, are bound to happen. When they do, it becomes the task of accident reconstruction professionals to investigate what caused the incident and, more importantly, determine what more could be done to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
At K&S, we provide expert consulting on accident reconstructions. Consultation is available on opposing expert opinions, checking the validity of viewpoints, and helping to create a technical legal strategy. If required, we can create cutting edge visual graphics which help potential jurors understand complicated technical details. Our goal is to create an effective translation from the technical jargon into layman's terms.
Our accident reconstruction consultant is Michael Sturgis. He has consulted before on these matters, and is a veteran aviator with extensive international flight experience in both scheduled and charter operations. In addition, he:
- Has over 5000 flight hours on the Boeing 737
- Has taught B-737 academics for 3000 hours and instructed pilots for over 3700 hours in B-737 simulators
- Is an FAA Evaluator for Boeing 737 pilot certification
- Has documented success in training pilots with varying military and civilian backgrounds and cultures
Students include Navy Top Gun, Blue Angels pilots, Air Force Thunderbird pilots, Air Force chiefs of training and heads of squadrons, Marine fighter pilots and pilots from all the major and commuter airlines of the US. In all, he has personally trained over 600 pilots and holds four different Air Transport Pilot certificates.
